Summer Wreath watercolour wedding invitations

Aishah & Chintan

Tuscany August 2019

Bespoke watercolour wreath, venue illustration & invite design

I have Aishah and Chintan to thank for commissioning these beautiful summer bespoke wedding invitations. The brief was to create a unique wreath, monogram and accompanying floral embellishments using the colours of a Tuscan summer (hot pinks, yellows and oranges), incorporating some olive tree foliage.

The invite also called for a venue watercolour. Who wouldn’t want to show off the idyllic rural wedding hideaway? The romantic and refined retreat had enough room for all the family as well as the happy couple’s Mehndi celebrations which had their own nod on the invite in the form of a Mehndi dancer illustration. The font: a seriously sophisticated classic European calligraphy, to tie in with the location.

Aishah and Chintan were beyond pleased with the final bespoke wedding invites. I love the romance, the concertina format and any excuse to create a custom watercolour for a venue.

ITALIAN LAKES Spring 2019

Bespoke location watercolours

Sometimes a project involves finding a design to work across an entire suite of bespoke wedding stationery. In others it’s just two show stopping items. Maria and Alex came to me wanting 18 watercolour illustrations of their favourite places for a highly personalised table plan. No mean feat!

I worked closely with them over a few months on their illustrations for their custom wedding stationery, the brief being a relaxed but elegant feel.
The designs were featured on individual tables for the wedding reception and a large scale table plan.

I was overjoyed to see from these photos what an evidently wonderful and laughter-filled day they had! I am reliably informed by Maria that all the hard work paid off and the bespoke table plan was adored by guests.

I absolutely love them!!! They are honestly perfect! They have come out so much better than I ever expected!

NORTHERN IRELAND Summer 2019

Bespoke location watercolours

What do you get if you cross an Irish River Dancer and a Premiership Footballer? Gorgeous bespoke wedding invitations, of course!

Part of what I enjoy most about working with couples on their wedding invites is the process of fine tuning ideas to get the perfect balance, it really does build a fantastic client relationship when you work collaboratively to get the perfect set for their magical day.

After meeting with Yvonne and Brian locally to discuss options for their upcoming wedding weekend at Lough Eske Castle
Ireland, I came up with a set of proposed invites in the form of some custom samples. Following that, working closely together and making tweaks to the spec and sampling swatches of card and various pocket formats we decided on the final suite of bespoke wedding invites.

The palette of gold, blush and navy is reflected gorgeously in their 7×5 inch blush pearlescent pocket. Yvonne and Brian opted for thicker white card for their information cards to give a really high quality feel to them, each sporting an illustration of the couple’s venues in faux gold print.

The perfect finishing touch is the seriously stylish personalised gold wax seal.

‘Undone’ Styled Shoot

KENT Autumn 2019

Bespoke rustic watercolour invites and day stationery sets

As you can tell from earlier case studies, my favourite type of project is a real wedding with the chance to build a relationship with a couple and work towards an amazing wedding day.

Occasionally though a styled shoot comes my way, more so since I won 2019’s Welsh Wedding Award. A styled shoot is a ‘wedding’ set to a brief intended to inspire prospective brides and grooms by showcasing some of the talented photographers, dress designers, jewellers, florists, cake makers and all the other hard working professionals that make a wedding day happen.

For me a styled shoot offers the opportunity to design bespoke wedding stationery to a more daring brief and (as a solo professional) work with other wedding trades!

This one really struck a chord with me, not least because I know the venue and it’s BEAUTIFUL, but also because a lot of my clients are looking for this rustic and relaxed style. So needless to say I was chuffed to be approached by Mindy Coe Photography with a magical brief for bespoke wedding stationery.

To set the scene: The Dreys, Kent, an ancient woodland wedding venue. Just some of the wonderful shoot keywords that struck a chord with me were:
…raw, ethereal, foraged, nature, pre-loved, mystical, old worldly, memories, forgotten, sustainable, dance of light, texture and emotion, humble, nostalgic, wild, timber, organic, elegant…

My answer was a suite of custom wedding stationery contrasting ‘barely there’ chiffon watercolours with bolder eucalyptus swathes and elegant calligraphy text, a palette of muted hand-dyed, silk ribbons and rich, natural textures and colours such as burgundy, kraft and gold.

I was thrilled with the suite of wedding stationery and working in collaboration with some wonderful wedding suppliers, I’m doubly delighted to announce the shoot is featured on the fantastic Love My Dress blog! What a pleasure to be asked to work on such a unique shoot and in a style I know will connect with my clients.

French château Summer 2019

Save the date, invite & day stationery design

I love when a couple order one of my ‘off-the-shelf’ designs and the result is this special! It lets me know my bespoke wedding stationery designs have captured just the right tone for someone’s vision. I worked with this (now happily married) couple from their save the dates, through to their invites and on to the day items, using my Succulents design across the suite. It was really rewarding to see my designs play their part in such an elegant French wedding. I particularly love what Ellen and Jan chose to do with their wedding day stationery.

The simple elegant table plan tags with German numbers were bound by sage ribbons to a bike wheel. Such a unique idea! Table plans are a great way to bring a really personal touch to a big day and what a big day this couple had!

The custom wedding stationery set is in a stunning palette of burgundy, white and gold, with a beautiful personalised gold metallic wax seal and white printed burgundy envelopes.
